世界の地域別標準時間帯。世界の各国は、イギリスのグリニッジ天文台における時刻（GMT）からの時差（±12時間以内）を使って各国の標準時としているが、同じ時差を使っている地域をタイムゾーンという。日本の標準時は、GMTよりも9時間先行している。国によっては、夏季には時計を１時間進める、夏時間を採用しているところもある。
時刻を参照するプログラムは、TimeZoneを知るために環境変数TZを参照することが多いため、あらかじめ設定しておく必要がある。</span></pre>
